What happens when a few students get together and try to make a feature film? We set out with very little know how about camera and editing. Bad acting, technical difficulties, crude animation and limited funds - we faced it all. "Alien Taxidermy" is the result. This is the unpolished fruit of our labours. With a couple of small grants and some hard work we created a feature length film that taught us the hard way that filmmaking is tough work, but worth the effort. Most importantly we learned by doing. Since making this film a number of the cast and crew have gone from amateur film folk to industry pros. So I guess we learned something along the way.
STORY: "Alien Taxidermy" is an experimental feature about two 20 somethings who want to get out of their home town where nothing ever happens, but while they try and leave things start to happen. An alien abduction, a crazed Vietnam vet, a hitman, a rockstar , a world domination plot and a stranded beautiful girl are just some of the things our heroes face in this unconventional tale of two dweebs trying to leave home. - Written, Directed and Produced by Shayne Metcalfe
